Freedom Initiative International was founded in 2018, born from the calling Tyson and Carrie Long received to become international missionaries. With their three sons by their side, they answered that call by dedicating their faith, knowledge, and skills to serve vulnerable communities in Guatemala. Many families there face extreme poverty, lacking access to essentials like food, clean water, and safe shelter.
FII addresses these needs through practical solutions—most notably, the installation of rocket stoves that improve health and daily living conditions while opening doors to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since its founding, FII has installed over 1,000 stoves, distributed approximately 40,000 pounds of food, and launched youth and life groups that have led to spiritual transformation. At the heart of the mission are the values of education, empowerment, and freedom.
We’re excited to begin phase one of the Freedom Center in San Lucas, Guatemala—a space for missionary housing, worship, and education. This long-awaited hub will strengthen our mission, and we need your help to make it a reality. Will you join us?
This dynamic ministry center will feature a hands-on workshop where Tyson can mentor youth in trades like welding and mechanics. A fellowship hall will serve as a space for feeding programs, education, and community gatherings. The second floor will include a dedicated area for worship, Life Groups, and discipleship. On-site missionary housing will support daily operations and long-term impact.
A donation of $1000 paves the way to build the first phase of the Freedom Center! When you allocate a tax deductible gift of $1000 or more towards the construction of the Freedom Center, your name, business or “in honor of” will be displayed within the center with deep gratitude as a Freedom Partner who paved the way to construct this multifaceted ministry center.
